Relocation

  • The relocation package is $20,000 lump sum (use for home finding trips, household goods move, temporary housing, housing assistance, sale/lease breaks, etc.), 5 paid days to move and 10% rate increase over 6 months.

  • The relocation package includes a 10% salary increase, which is divided into two parts: a 5% increase at the time of the move and another 5% after completing six months.

    This increase is not limited by the maximum of the salary range for your job. In other words, you will receive the full 10% regardless of your current rate.

  • The process and timing are being developed. Managers will assess department needs for Henderson, NV. This will be communicated by your manager once f inalized.

  • The relocation package will be subject to a repayment agreement if you voluntarily leave employment within 12 months following your move.

  • Any money provided in the relocation package is considered income and subject to applicable federal, state, and any local taxes.

  • Incentives, such as a “retention bonus” or “stay bonus” are being considered. Details will be shared as they become available.

Benefits

  • No, the benefits currently available in California will be the same as they are national plans that have an extensive network of providers in Nevada. Individuals who relocate to Nevada will experience a qualifying life event and be eligible to make changes to their plans if desired.

  • No, since the current Anthem EPO and PPO plans do not require an assigned medical primary care provider, you can see providers in California and Nevada with no issue. The only exception would be if you are enrolled in the dental HMO plan. Since dental HMO requires a primary dentist, you must select the appropriate location for your dental office election. Dental assignments can be changed at any time with the insurance company, but changes will not go into effect until first of the month following the change initiated.

  • Currently there are no anticipated changes to health insurance costs. Our intent is to keep the benefits package the same.

  • No, there are no changes to the current Haas 401(k) Loan Policy in Nevada.

  • Yes, you can have one general loan and one residential loan of up to $50,000. Please see 401(k) Loan Policy.

Residency

  • To become a Nevada resident, you need to establish both physical presence and intent to make Nevada your permanent home. You must reside in Nevada, maintaining a permanent address like a home or apartment.

    It's generally advised to be physically present in Nevada for a significant portion of the year, ideally over 183 days within a calendar year, especially if you're coming from a state with income tax like California.
    This will also generally involve obtaining a Nevada driver's license or ID card, registering to vote in Nevada, changing your bank accounts to Nevada and obtaining a lease or mortgage agreement.

  • If you are a Nevada resident and have a rental property in California, you would file a non-resident California tax return for the income generated by the rental property. Consult your tax advisor for individual circumstances.

  • Non-exempt employees are entitled to overtime pay for any hours worked beyond 40 in a workweek. Overtime pay is calculated at a rate of 1.5 times the regular hourly rate.

  • The cost of living in Nevada is approximately 28% lower than California. A breakdown of the cost of living can be found on HaasNevada (password: haas).

  • Please work with your manager. Vacation requests will be subject to approval as it is today.

  • Driver’s License:
    You must provide the required documents at a Nevada DMV: proof of identity, proof of your social security number, proof of your Nevada residential address (two documents) and your existing driver’s license. You will be asked to fill out the Application for Driving Privileges or ID Card (DMV 002) and take a vision test. Drivers under the age of 21 are required to take the knowledge test.

    Vehicle Registration:
    You must bring the following to a Nevada DMV: Nevada evidence of insurance, Nevada Emissions Vehicle Inspection Report (if applicable), Vehicle Identification Number Inspection (VIN inspection stations are located at most Clark County DMVs), current registration, current odometer reading, and the Application for Vehicle Registration (VP 222).

    Southwest Gas: provides natural gas services

    City of Henderson Utility Services: manages water, wastewater, and reclaimed water services.

    Republic Services (Silver State Disposal): provider for trash and recycling services in Henderson.

    It's wise to contact each utility provider at least 30 days before your move to ensure a smooth transition.
